You will find hidden treasures throughout the Rías Baixas, among which the Cíes Islands stand out in the first place or also called by the ancient Romans “The Islands of the Gods”, just 16 km away. To get to them you must take a ferry from Vigo or Cangas and book in advance.
You have more treasures just 30 minutes from As Chivas by car:
- Lapamán Beach (Bueu).
- Liméns beach (Cangas).
- Playa de Areas (past Combarro) the best for children.
- Melide beach (Cangas).
- Pinténs Beach (Ría de Aldán).
- La Lanzada Beach (O Grove, 2.5 km of beach).

You can do Marine Tourism in the town of Cesantes, just 4 km from As Chivas. Among the new activities that this place includes are the traditional trammel or pot of “Choco de Redondela”, the Route of Shellfish at the foot of the sea and the Route of Shellfish to Float.
And if you like water sports, you can do the Kayak Route to San Simón Island, from Cesantes 4 km away.
